Patent-Pending Australian Innovation
Born from over 30 years of experience in the Australian semi-trailer parts and components industry, Trailer Spec Pro is proudly designed, engineered, and supported onshore in Australia. This is modern, practical innovation built by people who understand the industry from the ground up.
Save Time, Save Money
In transport, time is money. BuildTag™ eliminates wasted hours identifying trailer components. Instead of crawling under trailers or guessing between different suspension or axle models, one quick scan shows you exactly what’s fitted.
VIN-Specific Precision & Instant Documentation
Every BuildTag™ is uniquely tied to the trailer’s VIN, ensuring the information displayed is precise for that exact trailer. With every scan, you get:
- Component Lists
- Parts Drawings
- Maintenance Guides
- Service Instructions
BuildTags are available in Stainless Steel or Acrylic, both engineered for durability in harsh transport environments.
Why Trailer Spec Pro?
New Builds or Retrofit — We Support Both
BuildTags are not limited to new trailer builds. They can also be retrofitted to existing trailers, provided the VIN and specifications are supplied. Trailer Spec Pro handles all data entry — simply provide the VIN and any specifications, documents, or photos you want digitally attached to the trailer, and we take care of the rest. Even if records are limited, the original OEM may be able to assist in supplying build information.
Cloud-Hosted & Always Up-to-Date
Trailer Spec Pro is securely hosted in high-quality data centres in the Asia-Pacific region for fast, reliable access. If components change throughout the trailer’s life, the BuildTag can be updated remotely via over-the-air updates — keeping your information accurate and current.
Optional OEM Manuals & Spec Sheets
Where supplied by the trailer manufacturer, Trailer Spec Pro can host owner manuals, spec sheets, wiring layouts, and operating instructions. Not every OEM provides manuals, but when they do, BuildTag integrates them seamlessly. When they don’t, Trailer Spec Pro still delivers organised component information, giving end users fast and accurate access to what matters.
A Major Time-Saver for Trailer OEMs
Trailer manufacturers can streamline their delivery process:
- No more printing bulky manuals
- No more USB sticks that get lost
- No more assembling binders for every trailer
Trailer Spec Pro hosts everything digitally, saving OEMs time and money while improving the customer experience.

FAQs
What happens if a Build Tag gets damaged?
If your Build Tag becomes damaged, worn, or unreadable, contact us and we can supply a replacement at a reduced cost. While the physical replacement tag is being shipped, we can also email or text a soft-copy version immediately, so the trailer information is still accessible without delay.
What if the information on a trailer changes?
If a component or part is changed, the builder or fleet can update the details through Trailer Spec Pro. The Build Tag remains the same — the data behind it is simply updated.
Do all trailers come with manuals uploaded?
Only if the OEM supplies them. Some provide full manuals, drawings, or spec sheets, while others supply limited information. Trailer Spec Pro supports uploading whatever the manufacturer makes available.
What happens if the QR code gets dirty?
QR codes are highly tolerant, but if covered in thick dirt, grease, or mud, a quick wipe or spray usually restores scanability.
What phones or devices does it work with?
Any smartphone or tablet capable of scanning QR codes — iPhone, Samsung, Android, iPad, etc. No app required.
Can the Build Tag be removed or stolen?
Tags are fitted using industrial adhesive or rivet mounting depending on builder preference. Even if
removed, the tag alone is not useful without access to the trailer’s secure profile.
Can existing trailers be retrofitted with a Build Tag?
Yes. Build Tags can be retrofitted to older trailers. To set up a retrofitted trailer, the VIN and accurate specifications must be provided. Accurate information is essential for the system to function correctly. In many cases, the original trailer OEM may be able to assist in providing build or component details if records are still available.
How long does a Build Tag last?
Trailer Spec Pro offers Build Tags in both Stainless Steel and Acrylic options. Both are designed to withstand harsh trailer environments including sun, rain, vibration, chemicals, and road grime. Actual lifespan will depend on operating conditions, location, and general maintenance, but each tag type is engineered to be durable, weather-resistant, and long-lasting.
